Any linear bilateral network containing one or
more voltage sources can be replaced by a single voltage source whose value is
equal to the open circuit voltage at output terminal with a series Thevenin 's
resistance. The Thevenin 's resistance is equal to the effective resistance
looking back from the output terminal by removing the ad resistance.
Object: To verify Thevenin 's theorem.

Thevenin 's Resistance Experimental Setup
Thevenin 's Circuit
Procedure:
1. Connect the circuit as per the circuit
diagram (Fig(a)).
2. Measure the voltage across the load using
proper voltmeter.
To Find Thevenin 's Voltage
1. Connect the circuit as per the circuit
diagram (Fig(b)).
2. Remove the load resistance and measure the open circuited voltage across the output terminal using voltmeter (Vth).
To Find Thevenin 's Resistance
1. Connect the circuit as per the circuit
diagram (Fig(c)).
2. Replace the supply by its internal resistance
and open circuit the load.
3. Using multimeter in resistance mode, measure the resistance across the output terminal (Rth).
Thevenin 's Circuit
1. Connect the power supply (Vth) and resistance (Rth) in series as shown in Fig.d.
2. Connect the load resistance (1kΩ).
3. Switch on the power supply and measure the
voltage drop across load resistance using voltmeter.
4. Voltage measured at Fig (a) should be equal
to the voltage measured at Fig (d).
