The 245PMI-B breaker represents a performance advancement of the technologies employed in interrupter, mechanism, and bushing technology that have been field proven on ABB SF6 dead tank breakers since 1992.
The 245PMI-B breaker combines the features of the well-proven 242PMI design with a high performance interrupter to provide enhanced dielectric capabilities. It principally consists of three cast aluminum single-piece tanks, each containing an interrupter unit, mounted on a common powdercoated steel support structure. Two bushings with removable current transformers mount atop each tank. A powdercoated steel control cabinet is attached to the frame, while a spring-hydraulic operating mechanism mounted on each pole tank drives the moving contacts.
